Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams has dismissed widespread claims that new Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz is earning a $100,000 monthly salary, describing the reports as inaccurate.

Speculation had intensified in recent days suggesting the Ghana Football Association had offered a lucrative package to secure the experienced Portuguese manager. However, Adams has clarified that the actual figure is significantly lower.

“We are not paying him $100,000. We are not paying him up to that amount at all,” he stated in an interview on Asempa FM.

The minister further explained that the exact salary remains unclear because the full contract has not yet been finalised and signed.

Queiroz, who arrived in Ghana on April 22, was officially unveiled a day later and has already begun work ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As part of his early activities, he has embarked on a European tour, holding meetings with captain Jordan Ayew and deputy Thomas Partey as preparations intensify.
