Ecstatic GFA President, Kurt Okraku heaped praises on the Black Princesses of Ghana for winning the maiden WAFU Zone B U-20 Girls Championship and added they will continue to support women football in the country to reach the top level.
The final was held last Saturday at the Baba Yara Stadium and was really an epic one between two eternal rivals Ghana and Nigeria but was the former who ended up victors with a 3-1 via penalties lottery, on the back of a 1-1 scoreline in regulation time.
Also doubles as WAFU Zone B President, Kurt Okraku after the precious triumph held a sitting with the entire Black Princesses team to congratulate them for the victory and sweet-talked them to be proud of themselves for what they have achieved.
Further on, he assured that, the Ghana FA will continue to support, invest and in fact exert in extra efforts to help develop women football to the highest echelon.
"Football is all about teamwork and your head coach and his assistants showcased that throughout the tournament. They have worked with unity and we are grateful and thankful to them."
"The journey wasn't easy but with your hard work, dedication, and determination, you didn't give up and fought for the ultimate. You played against a strong Nigerian side but didn't give up and showcased good football to Ghanaians and fought till the last whistle."
"If we stay with this sense of unity and as a family and listen to our coaches, we will go beyond the group stage this time."
