Kurt Okraku has expressed strong confidence that Ghana will make a big impact at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars will be making their fifth World Cup appearance, having previously featured in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022.

Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia for this year’s tournament, which will be hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking at the launch of the Black Stars Fundraising Campaign at the Kempinski Hotel last Friday, March 20, Okraku admitted Ghana’s recent struggles at the tournament but believes the current team can change the narrative after back-to-back group stage exits in 2014 and 2022.

“Today, we are very confident that the intangible assets that we have produced over time, the intangible assets that have been put together by coach [Otto] Addo and his team, we will make Ghana proud,” he said.

“We will go into this tournament with our chest up, ready to fight for the strip and ready to change our story. We fear no one and believe me, Ghana football will speak,” Okraku added.

Ghana will begin their campaign against Panama on June 17, before taking on England on June 23 and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27.

The team have started arriving for the March international window where they will face Austria and Germany all in friendlly matches.
