Former Ghana Football Addo President, Kwesi Nyantakyi has urged Ghanaians to do away with emotions when it comes to inviting of players into the Black Stars and rather focus on getting the best available once who will help the team excel.

He made these comments on the back of recent brouhaha when it appeared some of the foreign-born players have all of a sudden expressed interest to play for the Black Stars with some of them turning down earlier invites.

Many a Ghanaian football faithful believe the players suddenly developed interest to play because Ghana has qualified for the upcoming and not because of passion or dedication hence should be overlooked.

The issue has divided opinions in the country and ex- GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi says we should go with players who willing and ready to propel the team to achieving results regardless of what has happened in the past

Former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi: “People like Eddie Nketiah and Hudson-Odoi—let’s put our emotions aside and give them a chance if the coach believes they can compete favourably”, he said on JoyNews

“The Black Stars are open to every Ghanaian who is eligible to play. Some people become sentimental and emotional, saying, ‘Oh, this guy dumped Ghana,’ but I am interested in players who can help us achieve results.”

Coach Otto Addo is definitely one of the busy men in the world at the moment as he is monitoring closely to pick the best available players to represent Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup which comes off six months from now in USA, Canada and Mexico.
