Nations FC captain, Razak Simpson strongly believes home-based players deserve Black Stars call-up despite the motion that they are not quality enough for the challenge.

This discussions has always created divided opinions in the local media with majority stating players in the Ghanaian topflight should consistently be getting invite into the senior men national team.

However, the Black Galaxies were put to test in the playoff round of the CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria but failed to prevail having lost by 3-1 on aggregate to miss out on the continental showpiece slated for August this year.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Kessben FM, the enterprising defender feels majority of they (local players) have the quality and capacity to flourish in the Black Stars.

“We deserve call into the Black Stars. We couldn’t qualify the Black Galaxies for the CHAN but its football. We are good and with the help of the senior players, we can give our maximum best when given."

Razak Simpson recently had his debut call-up to Black Stars and enjoyed full time actions against Angola and Niger in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
