Black Galaxies defender Razak Simpson feels luck wasn't on their side and that's the main reason they couldn't prevail against Nigeria in last month's CHAN qualifier.

The two-time finalists after a goalless draw in the first leg in Accra, suffered a 3-1 defeat against the Super Eagles B in the return leg and failed to qualify for the main competition which is slated for August this year.

Already, the Nations FC captain believes failing to qualify doesn't take anything away from them as they are still eligible and has the quality to play for the Black Stars.

He has further stated that their coach had everything right so as they (the players) but were just unlucky in the tie.

"Everything was fine. We were just unlucky. Our coach Didi Dramani had his tactics and everything right, but luck eluded us," Simpson said in an interview with Kessben FM.

Razak Simpson recently had his debut call-up to the Black Stars and enjoyed full time action against Angola and Niger in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
