Former Ghana international, Richard Kissi Boateng has called on the Ghana Football Association [GFA] to put in much effort in ensuring the Black Stars qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The Black Stars will shift their focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers - as they are second in Group I with nine points.

Ghana's next task in the mundial qualifiers will be against Chad and Madagascar in March this year.

The four-time Afcon champions failed to qualify for the 2025 continental showpiece for the first time in 21 years.

In an interview with Pan-Africa Football ahead of the qualifiers, Kissi Boateng has advised for meticulous planning and rigorous preparation as the team aims to secure a spot in the World Cup set to come off in Canada, USA and Mexico.

“We have the World Cup qualifiers coming and all we need to do is to prepare for it and you know before you can achieve something, you need to prepare for it, you need to plan for it and per what I am seeing, organization is getting bad and bad every single moment," he said.

“Because, the World Cup is the biggest platform and every country wishes to attend that tournament, working our way to qualify is not going to be easy but it demands hard work.

“It is up to the coach, the federation and everybody around the team to wake up and put up their maximum effort because it is not going to be easy and how we organize our things, you don’t see the future of our organization. We only attend to situations if it becomes worse.”
