Inter Milan forward Ange-Yoan Bonny has been cleared to represent Ivory Coast after officially switching allegiance from France, putting him in contention for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 22-year-old striker, born in Aubervilliers in the Paris suburbs, previously featured for France at youth level but has now committed his international future to the Elephants following FIFA approval and clearance from the French Football Federation.
Ivory Coast head coach Emerse Faé had already shown interest in the forward earlier this year, naming him in a preliminary squad for a friendly against South Korea in March as part of efforts to integrate him into the national setup.
Bonny, who joined Inter Milan from Parma and has made 44 appearances across all competitions with seven goals and seven assists, will now aim to impress ahead of the World Cup.
The Elephants are set to compete in Group E at the tournament in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, where they will face Germany, Ecuador, and debutants Curaçao.
