Belgium-based midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru has confessed how disappointed he was after missing out narrowly on Ghana's 2022 FIFA World Cup squad list.

The 25 year old prior to the Mundra, was in a good form and playing regularly for RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian top-flight.

He earned an invite to the provisional squad but got dropped by then stop-gasp gaffer Otto Addo from the final list to Qatar.

Speaking to TV3, the ex- WAFA midfielder admitted he felt really bad since he was really desperate to have a feel of the biggest football competition in the world.

"That's the biggest competition in the world and every player wants to be there. I think for me personally I felt bad but also I felt like, these are my guys going and they need my support."

Ghana at the World Cup, failed to advance from the group phase, having picked only three points from three games, losing to Portugal and Uruguay but managed a win at least beating South Korea by 3-2.

Majeed Ashimeru from then has been a regular member in the Black Stars, having received back to back call ups in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
