The Manponteng community were crowned champions of the 2023 Inter-community Easter gala organised by former Black Stars striker Joetex Asamoah Frimpong at the Nsuta District in the Ashanti Region.

Joetex, organised this mainly in honour of his late father Mr. Ntim Frimpong and also to serve as a tool to mobilize the communities involved in preaching peace and unity for this year's Easter celebration.

The competition was a one-day tourney, and comprised of four communities which include eventual champions Manponteng, runners up Asuafu, with Abesua and Awenya being the other two.
 
Manponteng on road to becoming the conquerors humbled Nsuta Asuafu with an emphatic 3-1 victory in an epic final last Sunday, April 9, 2023.
 
The champions after the triumphant glory, were handed a coveted trophy and a fat envelope of Ghc2,000 following their impressive display throughout the competition.
 
Joetex Asamoah Frimpong is a former Ghanaian professional footballer who played for the senior national team and also had some European spells where he played for FC Young Boys, FC Zurich- all in the Swiss topflight and more.
 
With the Black Stars, he made the country's final squad for the 2006 AFCON and scored for Ghana in their famous and emphatic 4-1 win over sworn rivals Nigeria in an international friendly in 2007 at the Craven Cottage in Fulham, London.
