Master Ghanaian tactician, Joseph Emmanuel (J.E) Sarpong has voiced his candid opinion about the dismal performance of the Black Stars in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

According to the experienced trainer, he believes management members of the Black Stars are mismanaging the affairs of the team and are bent on shredding the hearts of its fans.

Sarpong's statement comes in the wake of the senior national team's uninspiring performances in recent friendly matches against Angola, Sudan and Niger, where they failed to qualify for the 2025 continental showpiece, bagging just three points from their six matches in Group F.

“Black Stars is the only thing that brings us together. They are toying with our hearts. The team is our heartbeat, even if it seems the heartbeat is suffering from convulsions,” he said on Adom TV's Big Agenda show.

Coach Sarpong connected the team’s skirmishes partially to the GFA's failure to appoint a world-class coach.

“This is the National Team. You need to spend a lot of money to get a good coach. But if you decide to spend less, you get a cheap option, and that is what the team is facing,” he stated.

“With this performance, I even hope we do not qualify for the World Cup,” he bewailed.
