Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum is very optimistic Otto Addo can still lead Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite the team's recent ill performance.

The Black Stars wrapped up their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 1-2 home loss to Niger and will miss out on the continental showpiece for the first time since 2004.

The four-time African champions recorded a winless campaign in the qualifying series having finished at the bottom of Group F with just three points from six matches.

The team's abysmal performance and failure to book AFCON spot has triggered the Ghanaian football fans who have already made series of real hullabaloo especially on social media expressing a huge displeasure with many calling for the jettisoning of coach Otto Addo.

However, Henry Asante Twum holds different opinion as he strongly believes the former Borussia Dortmund trainer will be able to redeem himself by securing qualification for Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

"I believe that Otto Addo and his technical team are competent and capable of delivering World Cup 2026 qualification." (Asempa FM)

The Black Stars currently have three wins and a defeat from their opening three matches of the World Cup qualifiers and are occupying the second position in Group I with 9 points.

They will regroup in March next year to take on Chad in match-day five.
