Asante Kotoko U17 announced their presence in style at the 2025 Cheetah Cup with a commanding 3-0 victory over rivals Hearts of Oak U17 on Sunday.
The young Porcupines were dominant from the start and broke the deadlock through Anthony Duah, who calmly finished off a fine team move. Their momentum continued as Takyi Addison doubled the lead with a brilliant strike, putting Kotoko firmly in control.
Hearts of Oak’s hopes of a comeback were dashed when defender Maxwell turned the ball into his own net, handing Kotoko their third goal and sealing a convincing win.
The result gives the Reds a perfect start in the prestigious youth competition, boosting confidence as they aim for silverware.
For Hearts of Oak U17, the heavy defeat serves as an early wake-up call as they look to regroup for their remaining fixtures.
