Bernard Somuah's first half curler hands Asante Kotoko a narrow 1-0 victory over Ghana Premier League rivals Bibiani Goldstars earlier this afternoon in a friendly.

Both teams are currently in Central Region's capital Cape Coast for pre-season- looking to put themselves in a very good shape ahead of the new campaign.

The game was really a cagey one between both clubs with some quality skills exhibited and aggression but a decent Bernard Somuah's curler in the first half was enough to hand the Reds the victory after full time.

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum handed starting berths to players line Baba Yahaya, Lord Amoah, Peter Acquah Amidu, Bernard Somuah, Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara with Henry Ansu skipping the side at the start.

With Goldstars, head coach Frimpong Manso had Charles Kamara as the captain alongside key figures like Vincent Atinga, Humin Dafie, Ronald Frimpong, Alex Aso and others all in his line up.

This game and subsequent friendlies will serve as the perfect test for both teams to know their strength and weaknesses ahead of the 2024/25 season which commences early next month.
