Ghana’s senior women national team, the Black Queens have passed the test in their first game of the ongoing Pink Ladies Cup tournament in UAE with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Hong Kong at the Al-Hamriya Sports Club Stadium.

Despite the sloppy start to the game, Ghana managed to find their rhythm early and opened the scoring account in the 28th minute through FC Nordsjaelland forward Princess Marfo.

Ten minutes later, Israeli-based Doris Boaduwaa doubled the lead with a very cool finish from close range after a huge defensive clanger on the part of Hong Kong as it finished 2-0 in the interval

Just a minute into the second half, Nottingham Forest attacker Chantelle Hlorkah-Boye increased the tally after the Reds struggled to clear away a Comfort Yeboah corner kick delivery.

In the 54th minute, the Queens were awarded a penalty after Doris Boaduwaa was brought down in the box. She elected herself for the spot-kick but was saved.

Debutant Ajegipina Zakaria came off the bench to score on her debut for the senior national team at the death to wrap up what’s an impressive win.

The Black Queens after the win will go back for their recovery sessions and continue preparations towards their next game against Russia on Tuesday, March 3, at the same venue.

Kim Lars Bjorkegren and his girls will use this tournament as the perfect test to assess themselves, identify their strengths and weaknesses towards the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations slated for Morocco in few weeks.
