The Black Satellites of Ghana failed to commence the 2022 Tournoi Maurice Revello tournament on a good note after losing to Mexico in the Group B opener.
Ghana managed to hold the South American nation to a scoreless stalemate in the first half which was much entertaining with some goal glaring opportunities for both countries but they failed to make them count.
A 83rd minute goal from Victor Guzman was enough to secure all the needed points for Mexico to begin the tournament which has been on a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
Ghana bowed out in the group stages of the Tournoi Maurice Revello tournament after making their appearance in 2007.
Ghana will be battling out with Indonesia in their second Group B game on Thursday, 2nd June at the Stade Jules Ladoumegue.
In the other Group B game, Venezuela recorded 1-0 slim win over Indonesia.
