Asante Kotoko earlier this morning tested themselves with a preparatory friendly against lower-division side Future Stars in Adako-Jachie- a tie they won narrowly by 1-0.

The Porcupine Warriors are using this game to adequately get themselves well prepared and ready for the second round of the Ghana Premier League, so as Future Stars, who will hope for a better finish in zone two of the national First Division League.

The start of the game was really an entertaining one as the visitors nearly pulled a surprise with the first shot on target but was checked very well by goalkeeper Frederick Asare.

The exchanges continued but there was no goal produced at half time. Now its in the second half where Kotoko took control of the game and got themselves a goal eventually, courtesy Isaac Oppong who struck into bottom corner giving the opposition goalie no chance to stop that one.

It finished 1-0 for Asante Kotoko who will definitely play more friendlies in the coming weeks to continue with their preparations.

The 'Kum Apem' finished the first phase of the season on the third position with 29 points, just three points behind leaders Samartex FC.

They will resume the second round with a visit to Kpando Heart of Lions on February 25, 2024.
