Head coach Michael Osei has expressed readiness to handle the Black Stars and has confirmed he's applied for the vacant role hoping to be considered.
Ghana is currently without a coach following the sacking of Chris Hughton after a disastrous campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which is currently ongoing in Cote D'Ivoire.
The Ghana FA since, have been on the lookout for his successor with some foreign coaches expressing strong interest and reports say some have already applied for the job.
The only Ghanaian coach who has applied for the job now is Michael Osei and feels he is the right person for the job at the moment after fifteen years of coaching experience.
"Yes, I have applied for the job because I believe that with everything I've learnt, I am capable of coaching the squad.
"Looking at the team, there are a number of young players like Majeed Ashimeru, Enerst Nuamah, Osman Bukari, and many of the current players who I have coached at the U23 level alongside coach Ibrahim Tanko.
"I've been coaching in Ghana for about 12 years, totaling nearly 15 years of coaching experience. Ghana is also my home country, so I understand the culture, have the expertise, and believe now is the time to coach the squad and I'm always a winner."
Michael Osei has handled clubs like Asante Kotoko, Liberty Professionals, and also served as FSV Frankfurt II assistant but his last job was with Bibiani Goldstars.
