The Black Galaxies of Ghana earlier this morning edged first division side Nania FC by 1-0 at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram in a preparatory friendly ahead of the 2025 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers.

Nania FC - owned by Ghanaian football great, Abedi Ayew 'Pele', gave the Galaxies a very good challenge while the legend also had the opportunity to meet and have a word with the players after the game and also spoke to the Black Maidens who are currently in camp preparing for the maiden WAFU Zone B Girls U-17 Championship.

Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani handed starting spots to goalkeeper Appiah Kubi, Simba Sylvester, Black Stars quartet of Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, Emmanuel Antwi and Jerry Afriyie all made the cut.

It was really a very tough encounter with Nania delivering an impressive test to give a good account of themselves but Jerry Afriyie's lone goal was enough to hand the Galaxies a narrow win after full time.

The game was really a highly competitive one which will definitely serve as the perfect test for the two teams to test their strength ahead of upcoming assignments.

The Black Galaxies will host sworn rivals Nigeria in the qualifiers with the first leg is slated for December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium while the return leg comes up on December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
