Medeama SC secured a slim win over nine-man Legon Cities in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League match-week one on Sunday afternoon.
The Yellow and Mauves inflicted a 1-0 home defeat on Legon Cities in tbe opening games of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season at the El-wak Stadium.
Medeama SC enjoyed majority of the ball possession in both halves, which eventually paid off after the hour-mark.
Despite the early incursions from visitors, Legon Cities managed to hold Medeama to a scoreless draw in the first half of the game.
Youngster Kofi Asmah registered the opener which became the only goal after connecting a corner-kick effected by Kwesi Donsu on the 68th minute.
On the 75th minute, Legon Cities were reduced to ten men after Micheal Ampadu and Michel Otou were shown straight red cards by the referee
In the last ten minutes, Legon Cities warmed themselves into the fixture but the backline of Medeama SC stood firmly to prevent them from scoring in the dying embers.
The match ended in a 1-0 win for Medeama SC at the El-wak Stadium.
