Prosper Boakye's 89th minute goal was enough for Medeama SC to record a precious 2-1 win over Asante Kotoko in an exciting game to inaugurate the new TnA Stadium.

The game really lived up to the height just as it was anticipated with some quality display of football from both sides with the graced by the presence of Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku.

The Porcupine Warriors started the game well and nearly scored in just three minutes into the game but Albert Amoah- after going past Fatawu Sulemana had his cross well checked by Michael Enu.

On the 16th minute mark, Diawisie Taylor rebounded Osah Bernadinho Tetteh's free kick into the net with the hosts already celebrating but the assistant line two flagged up for an offside.

Four minutes later, Medeama SC finally found the back of the net through Nana Kofi Babil who tapped in Michael Enu's header at a close range.

On the 31st minute, The Mauves and Yellows were awarded a penalty and Diawisie Taylor stepped up to double the lead but his penalty was saved.

In the second half, Asante Kotoko looked more purposeful after Albert Amoah brilliantly moved above Emmanuel Cudjoe and struck a good one but was gathered calmly by goalkeeper Appiah Kubi.

On the 62nd minute, Bernard Somuah was brought on and in just two minutes into his introduction, he scored a beauty to get the leveller with a powerful hit into the roof after a good Kotoko build-up.

Medeama SC looked completely blown away in the second half with less attacks leaving goalkeeper Frederick Asare and the Kotoko backline virtually on holiday as of the 75th minute.

Another poor Medeama display will put them under a huge pressure with Kotoko nipping on a faulty pass in midfield with the final ball getting to Albert Amoah on the right who sent in a powerful hit but was parried away brilliantly by goalkeeper Appiah Kubi.

On the 89th minute, a deep delivery from a free kick fell on that path of substitute Prosper Boakye at a close range who tapped in just like the first to restore Medeama's lead- leaving the Tarkwa fans in complete raptures. It finished 2-1 after full time
