VC Warriors continued their top-flight promotion hopes alive with an emphatic six-goal thriller away victory over Manaa FC on Tuesday afternoon.
Coach Boniface Ayipah's side extended their unbeaten run in the second round of the Division One League to eight matches following a 4-2 win over Manaa FC at the Malik Jabir Park in Wa.
The Wenchi-based outfit opened the floodgate through a superbly effort by Victor Kodom in the 6th minute of the game before the host leveled five minutes later. However, VC Warriors regrouped to restore their lead in the 22nd minute through a powerful drive from Emmanuel Boahen to end the first half with 2-1 lead.
On the hour-mark, Ibrahim Alhassan restored the parity of the game for Manaa FC but a second half brace from Charles Dwamena aided VC Warriors to pick all three maximum points at the Malik Jabir Stadium.
VC Warriors captain Gideon Acheampong picked his 12th Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award after another five-star performance against Manaa FC.
Since the arrival of coach Boniface Ayipa in January, VC Warriors are yet to suffer a defeat in the Division One League and have kept a 100% record.
The six-goal thriller win for VC Warriors has pushed them to second place with 37 points after match-week 21.
