Hearts of Oak attacker, Mawuli Wayo has sincerely apologised to the supporters of Hearts of Oak following their embarrassing exit from the FA Cup over the weekend
The 'Phobians' suffered a 4-3 penalty shootouts loss to lower-division side Golden Kicks FC after a goalless draw in regulation time in the round of 16.
The 'Phobians' had the fans under their total control and dominated from all angles but failed to make good use of the numerous chances that came their way and came back to hunt them.
Right after their exit, the versatile forward took to social media to render an unqualified apology to their supporters for the disappointment and showed appreciation to them on behalf of his teammates for their unending support.
"I want to sincerely apologize for our exit from the MTN EFA Cup. Losing on penalties is always tough, and I know we fell short of your expectations. Mawuli Wayo was having a very descent campaign in the league cup having netted three goals in two matches but unfortunately this will have to be the end of the road for him.
Hearts of Oak will now shift their attention fully to the Premier League which is currently on hold as they are now in the 4th position with 33 points, just one off the top-spot
