Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu is on the brink of being appointed as the new head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, with negotiations said to be 80% complete.
Sources close to the deal indicate that an official announcement is expected soon, pending the finalization of contractual terms. Konadu is set to replace current head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, as the Phobians look to chart a new course after a challenging Ghana Premier League campaign.
In a potential boost to the technical bench, seasoned goalkeepers’ coach Najahu Issa is also in line to join Konadu at Hearts. Talks with Issa are reportedly progressing well, and he is expected to be part of the new-look backroom staff if the deal goes through.
Konadu, a former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars coach, is widely respected for his tactical acumen and composed leadership. His arrival is seen as a major step towards restoring stability and ambition at Hearts of Oak.
The club currently sits sixth on the Ghana Premier League table with 46 points, eight behind leaders Bibiani GoldStars, with four matches remaining in the season.
