Medeama SC's Brands and Marketing Manager, Ebenezer Aidoo, has made an appeal to President Akufo Addo to fulfill his commitment to the club before their CAF Champions League group stage matches.

Medeama, having been crowned champions of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League, were received by the President at the Jubilee House, and during this visit, President Akufo Addo pledged to provide the team with GHS1 million for their campaign in Africa.

Despite their qualification for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, Medeama SC has yet to receive the promised funds. With the group stage matches set to begin later this month, Mr. Aidoo is urging President Akufo Addo to release the funds to assist in their preparations.

"We want to thank the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for their support during our campaign in Africa, as it has been positive," he stated in an interview with Asempa FM

"However, we want to appeal to President Akufo Addo because he promised to provide us with GHS1 million when we visited him. We are pleading that he honors this promise.

"We are also urging the Sports Ministry to make sure that we receive the money, as we require it for our preparations for the upcoming matches.

"Our expenses for travel and other arrangements are substantial, and as such, we are appealing to President Akufo Addo to fulfill his promise. We need the funding to compete effectively in the CAF Champions League," he emphasized.

Medeama SC has been drawn into Group D alongside Al Ahly, Young Africans, and CR Belouizdad. They will open their campaign against Al Ahly on November 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
