RSC Anderlecht central midfielder Majeed Ashimeru trained with the senior national team of Ghana ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Angola.

Ashimeru has returned to the Black Stars of Ghana team under Chris Hughton after missing out on the final squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar despite making the provisional squad list.
 
The former WAFA SC star has scored twice and provided three assists in 24 appearances this season for RSC Anderlecht in the Belgian Jupilier Pro League.
 
 
 
The Black Stars are scheduled to play against Angola in the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, March 23 with the reverse fixture set for Luanda on March 27.
 
Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year.
