Ghana football icon, Mohammed Polo has advised Otto Addo to resign as head coach of the Black Stars.

Polo, a 1982 Africa Cup of Nations winner made these remarks after Ghana's 2-0 loss to Sudan on Tuesday in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

A terrible campaign for Ghana took another turn for the worse soon after half-time as Sudan notched twice within three minutes through Ahmed Mohamed and Abdelrahman.

Ghana are in trouble as they trail second-placed Sudan by five points in Group F, and still have to visit in-form Angola, who were 2024 AFCON quarter-finalists.

Following the loss, there have been calls for Otto Addo to step down, with Polo saying he would have left the job if he were to be in Addo's situation.

"If I were Otto Addo, I would have resigned by now," said the 1982 AFCON winner in an interview with Akoma FM, based in Kumasi.
