The 2024/25 MTN FA Cup round of 16 draw returns this weekend with some interesting pairings lined up as all teams look to advance to the next round.
Ghana football is still in session but the Premier League has been on a temporal break for over two weeks now following the tragic death of staunch Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong famously known as 'Nana Pooley' in their week 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC.
Despite the league being on break, the round of 16 of the league cup has been sanctioned to come off this weekend with the exception of the game between Asante Kotoko and Sekondi Eleven Wise
Head of competitions at the Ghana FA, Julius Ben Emunah confirmed this report via Sporty FM;
"All other seven FA Cup matches will be played this weekend, with the exception of Kotoko, who have chosen not to play."
