Cremonese striker Felix Afena-Gyan has expressed his heartfelt admiration for the retiring Ghanaian legend, Asamoah Gyan.

After a remarkable career spanning nearly two decades with the national team, the former captain of Ghana's senior squad announced his retirement. In a tribute to his idol, the 20-year-old forward took to his social media platforms, expressing gratitude to Gyan for igniting their collective dreams. Afena-Gyan's breakout performance in 2021 has even led to him being hailed as the next Gyan.

"My inspiration. My Idol Thank you for making us dream," wrote the 20-year-old forward on his social media pages.

 

As Gyan bids farewell to the game, he leaves behind a remarkable legacy as Ghana's all-time leading scorer. With an impressive record of 51 goals from 109 appearances for the Black Stars, Gyan has etched his name in the annals of Ghanaian football history.
