As the African Cup of Nations approaches in Ivory Coast next month, Accra Hearts of Oak will not have any representation in Coach Chris Hughton's squad.
The recently released provisional squad lacks any addition from the Hearts of Oak roster.
Despite speculation surrounding the inclusion of Hearts of Oak's standout midfielder, Ibrahim Salifu, due to his stellar performances for the capital giants in the local league, the squad features players from various local clubs such as Medeama, Dreams FC, Asante Kotoko, Accra Great Olympics, and Nations FC.
The initial 55-man provisional squad will undergo further trimming, with the final selection narrowing down to twenty-seven players by January 3rd.
The absence of Hearts of Oak players sets the stage for a diverse representation of talent from other clubs in the upcoming AFCON tournament.
