There was no home-based player in the latest Black Stars 24-man squad for next month's 2023 AFCON qualifier against Madagascar.

Astonishingly, head coach Chris Hughton and his assistant Mas-ud Didi Dramani have been touring some Ghana Premier League centers for some time now and many a football faithful had a firm believe he will for the first time include a local player to the list but none made the cut

He visited venues like the Ohene Gyan Stadium, Baba Yara Stadium, Dawu and was just recently in Dormaa as he hopes to be enlightened more about the promising talents in the league.

Medeama SC's Vincent Atinga despite scoring 11 goals as a center back couldn't replace injured Mohammed Salisu and was overlooked for French-based Nicholas Opoku.

Joseph Addo and Felix Kyei with 14 and 13 clean sheets each all couldn't make the list so as the league's current top two scorers Abednego Tetteh (16) and Hafiz Konkoni (14).

Ghana are still leading Group E with eight points after four games and will travel to face Madagascar in Antananarivo in match-day 5 on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
