Nukunu FC president and founder Hon. Edem Agbana has urged the club’s supporters to remain patient as the side adjusts to life in the Ghana Division One League.

The club have had a tough start to their first season, with injuries, home ground problems and other challenges affecting their preparations.

Agbana, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, believes the team is improving and has asked fans to continue supporting the players.

“I know the fans are eager for results, but it is still a long season ahead. I appeal to them to remain patient and, most importantly, continue supporting the team.

“The injuries, instability with our home venue, and a few other setbacks have given us a difficult start to the season, but we are not worried. The boys are gradually building their confidence and improving with every game.

Nukunu FC suffered defeat against WAFA, but Agbana was encouraged by the performance despite the result.

“I watched the video of our match against WAFA, and although we lost, I was very proud of the boys. We played beautiful football, and that is exactly the kind of football I want to see as President of the Club.

The club have also made youth development a key part of their plans, with several young players given opportunities in the first team.

Agbana says the early performances of some of those youngsters have already attracted interest from scouts.

“We have deliberately introduced some very young players into the squad, and they are doing remarkably well. That is a major part of our focus: building a competitive team while developing young talents who can represent Nukunu FC and attract opportunities at the highest level.

“After Matchday 3, if you ask who some of the most promising young players in the Division One League are, names like Elorm and Alorgbey will certainly come up. We are already receiving enquiries from scouts who are taking interest in some of our players, which is encouraging.

With 27 matches remaining, Agbana insists the club are not losing sight of their ambitions despite their early difficulties.

Nukunu FC are targeting a top-five finish in their first Division One League campaign.

“We have 27 matches still to play. It will not be easy, but we know what we are building, and I remain confident in the team. Our target is to finish in the Top 5, and I believe we have the quality, the structure and the character to achieve that.

“We are not panicking. We are building.”
