Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has spoken ahead of the big game against Japan tomorrow and is very optimistic of nothing but a win heading into the game.
The four-time African champions after a very impressive year will get to climax it with two high profile friendlies against the Blue Samurai and South Korea in this November international window.
The team opened camp in Nagoya on Tuesday but with 18 players initially and the arrival of Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has completed the entire squad.
Key players like skipper Jordan Ayew, Kudus Mohammed, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku are all out of the game with injuries.
Speaking ahead of the game, the ex- Borussia Dortmund trainer recounted what happened in the last World Cup and strongly believes the team has improved tremendously.
He further indicated that the current Black Stars team can beat any country on any good day
“We have a lot of young, hungry players on board. We have a team, I think, on bad days, we can struggle, but on good days, we can beat everyone.
“We showed at the last World Cup, at least also that we were close to beating Portugal, we beat South Korea, so I think we have a competitive team and we’re looking forward also to make the next step.”
The Kirin Challenge Cup game is slated for 10:20am on Friday, November 14, in Nagoya
