Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), thinks Black Stars coach Otto Addo lacks the necessary skills, knowledge and leadership qualities to effectively guide and develop a winning team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

Otto Addo and his technical staff have come under heavy criticism for failing to qualify the team for the 2025 Afcon slated to come off in Morocco.

The Black Stars bagged just three points from six matches in Group F of the Afcon qualifiers, which included Angola, Sudan, and Niger.

The bad performance in the qualifying round left Ghana bottom (4th) in the group standing with just three points.

However, when asked about his remarks of the Black Stars overall output in the qualifiers, Nunoo Mensah, speaking to Asempa FM said Otto Addo is not competent to qualify the team to the global showpiece which will be hosted in USA, Canada and Mexico.

"I have not been convinced about Otto Addo's coaching prowess, especially against Niger.

"In crucial games, the matches are being won by the coaches and judging by the games we have played in the AFCON and what I expected from him, I don't think he is competently good enough to qualify Ghana for the 2026 World Cup," he stressed.
