The Black Stars wrapped up their Asian tour this morning with a painful 1-0 loss to South Korea in a very exciting game at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

The four-time African champions didn’t really have a descent Kirin Cup campaign having lost all two matches played after an earlier 2-0 loss to Japan last Thursday.

The game was a very balanced one with both teams really giving each other the perfect test to assess their strength and weaknesses for subsequent assignments.

After a goalless first half, Prince Kwabena Adu bounced back with a beautiful goal to put Ghana ahead but was controversially ruled out in the 54th minute

And in the 63rd minute, Austria Wien full-back Lee Tae-seuk headed into the net at a close range from Kang-in Lee’s sumptuous cross from the right to open the scoring account. The Asian Tigers had an opportunity to double the lead but Hee Chan-Hwang had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

In a post-match presser, the ex- Borussia Dortmund trainer described the game as a very close contest and added his side lost because they were wasteful

"I think it was a good game from both sides. In the end, they were more clinical with the chances they had.

"I think we had good ball possession but also a lot of chances we created which we couldn't use. I think the game was kind of even. It was good to watch."

The Black Stars recorded six wins, three loses and a draw from ten games in total this year and will bounce back to action in March next year.
