Ghana head coach Otto Addo has announced a 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.

The squad sees the return of key defenders Alexander Djiku and Gideon Mensah, both of whom missed last month’s qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

In a surprise move, FC Samartex left-back Isaac Afful has earned his debut call-up following standout performances in the CAF Champions League preliminary round and the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Additionally, Olympique Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah and Atalanta midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana make their return to the Black Stars squad after recovering from injuries that ruled them out of the previous qualifiers.

Ghana is set to face Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 11, before traveling to Libya for the second leg at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benina on Tuesday, October 14, 2024. The Black Stars will be looking to secure crucial points as they aim for a strong finish in the qualifiers.
