The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that head coach Otto Addo will announce his final Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 1, 2026, ahead of the tournament co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico next summer.

Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director of the GFA, revealed on Asempa FM that all qualified nations are required to submit their provisional squads by May 11, with final squad lists due before midnight on June 1.

“All qualified teams, including the Black Stars of Ghana, are mandated by FIFA to announce their provisional squad on May 11, 2026. The final squads for the tournament must be announced before midnight on June 1, 2026,” Asante Twum said.

He further stressed that any Ghanaian player performing at a high level, regardless of where they play, will be considered for a call-up.

“Every Ghanaian player with a strong performance is closely monitored by the technical team, and regardless of where they play, they will be given a call-up.”

The Black Stars will open their 2026 World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England on June 23 in Boston. Their final group match will see them take on Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.

This tournament will mark Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance, following campaigns in 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022, with their standout performance being a quarter-final finish at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
