Former Portugal and South Korea coach Paulo Bento has emerged as a leading contender for the Black Stars coaching role following the dismissal of Otto Addo.

With less than 70 days to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Ghana Football Association is pushing to secure a new manager quickly. Bento is reportedly interested in the job and keen on a return to international football.

The 54-year-old boasts World Cup experience, having guided South Korea to the Round of 16 in 2022, earning praise for his tactical discipline.

Despite competition from other candidates, including Hervé Renard, Bento remains one of the standout options among hundreds of applicants.

The GFA is expected to continue its evaluation before making a final decision on the next head coach.
