Asante Kotoko are back on winning ways in the pre-season with a good exercise after beating Ghana Premier League newbies Vision FC by 2-1 earlier this mid-afternoon at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Despite being named the new Asante Kotoko captain, Frederick Asare sat at the bench for Guinean goalie Mohammed Camara in a line up that also had Emmanuel Antwi, Baba Yahaya, Albert Amoah, Peter Acquah, Samba O'neil as the captain and more.

On the part of vision, coach Mohammed Hamza Obeng paraded a strong starting XI that is blended with experience and youthful exuberance with new captures Issah Akuka and Elijah Addai all in the list.

It took Asante Kotoko just eight minutes to break the deadlock of the game courtesy Albert Amoah- who has been very impressive since his arrival.

Twenty-three minutes later, Albert Amoah found the back of the net again to mark his brace to hand the Porcupine Warriors a two-goal cushion before half time.

Back from recess, both teams returned on a blistering note and displayed some top level football leaving all the present fans thrilled at the venue.

Vision FC upped the ante subsequently and began to launch series of attacks which eventually handed them a penalty which was converted neatly by Issah Akuka to reduce the deficit. It finished 2-1 after full time.

Both teams will use this preparatory game to test their strength ahead of the 2024/25 football season which commences on September 6, 2024.
