Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko will cross swords against each other in the highly-anticipated 2025 President Cup clash slated for Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium 

The President Cup is organized annually to celebrate every sitting President, and will this time be in honour of John Dramani Mahama - who recently assumed the big seat 

For the sake of the trophy and the bragging rights, both teams will approach the game with so much seriousness and dedication as they will have their sights set on nothing but a win

Hearts of Oak have been in serious preparations at the Kpobiman training grounds all week with the main motive of getting themselves adequately prepared and poised for the big game coming up

The ‘Phobians’ won’t be fielding in any new player in this game due to their recent transfer ban even though they have reportedly contacted series of players who will be officially unveiled while everything is resolve

Newly-named coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has already stated this is the game he is looking forward to painting the fair idea of how he want his team to play and the squad have been boosted with a reward of $1,000 from any goal they will score, promised by Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey 

On the opposition side, the Porcupine Warriors have been in intensive preparations towards the game having received a huge motivation including a monetary support and other promises from Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene  

The team warmed themselves up last Thursday with a preparatory friendly against lower-division side Namoro Academy - in a game they won by 2-1, courtesy goals from new captures Seth Kwadwo and Johnson Oppong Owusu, a game that gave Karim Zito a fair idea of how side are ready for the game

Hearts of Oak haven’t recorded any major injury or suspension concerns from their disposal and will still have a full strength squad for the game 

Coach Karim Zito has all players available for the game except Andrews Ntim Manu - who is out with ACL
