Viktoria Plzen forward Prince Kwabena Adu has expressed his excitement and determination after joining the Black Stars camp for the first time ahead of Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.
The in-form striker earned his maiden call-up for the Kirin Cup following an impressive start to the season in both the Czech First League and Europa League, where he has already scored six goals, including one on the continental stage.
With key attackers Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus all missing from the current squad, the 22-year-old sees the opportunity as a chance to stake his claim for a long-term place in the national team setup.

Posting on Instagram after his arrival in Nagoya, Kwabena Adu shared a photo of himself in camp with the caption: “Duty.”
The former Bechem United forward will be hoping to make an impression when Ghana take on Japan on Friday, before facing South Korea on Tuesday, November 18.
Head coach Otto Addo is expected to use the two matches to assess several new players, including CF Montreal’s Prince Osei Owusu and Medeama’s rising star Kelvin Nkrumah, as part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
