The captain of the Black Stars, Jordan Ayew has promised President John Dramani Mahama that they will do everything possible to win their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will come up against Chad on Friday at Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Morocco to take on Madagascar's Barea at the Mimoun Al Arsi Stadium in AI Hoceima, Morocco next Monday.

Meanwhile, the President of the republic visited the team during their training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday to encourage the players ahead of the crucial hurdles.

“It’s a big sign that you’re here supporting us. We know we’re in a tough situation, but we’re not afraid. We will turn things around on Friday, so you can relax. We’ll do the job for the nation,” Ayew promises.

The Black Stars has encountered a torrent of criticism after missing out on qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
