Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed has been confirmed dead after battling ailment for the past months.
Kickgh.com can confirm that Dr. Mustapha Ahmed sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in Accra.
He remains as one of the shortest-serving Sports Minister in Ghana's fourth republic, having worked at the Ministry of Youth and Sports for only eight months.
The Military dentist was appointed to lead the Sports Ministry under former President John Mahama from June 2015 to January 2016 after Mahama Ayariga was then elevated to the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology.
As a Member of Parliament, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed represented the Ayawaso East Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from 2001 to 2013.
The retired military officer, who died at age 63 left behind a wife and three children.
