Despite the Black Stars missing out on qualification to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time after 20-years, former Ghana international Sam Johnson has said that the Black Stars led by Otto Addo would book a place in the 2026 World Cup in USA, Canada and Mexico.
Ghana are scheduled to face Chad and Madagascar in the Matchday five and six games in March. The Black Stars will host Chad on March 17, before traveling to square-it-out with Madagascar on March 24.
“I have confidence in Otto Addo. He can qualify us for the World Cup but football is not only about the coach," Johnson was quoted as saying on Sporty FM.
"I want something for myself, that’s why I’m playing football. If the coach is not good, what am I doing for myself on the field?
"Do something. We play for coaches who don’t know anything because maybe the coach is not good but he is a human," he added.
