Former Ghana Football Association communications chief Ibrahim Sannie Daara has called for full support for new Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz, even as he questions what can be achieved in a short time before the 2026 World Cup.

Carlos Queiroz was officially appointed on 13 April and will lead Ghana into a tough World Cup group that includes England, Croatia and Panama.

Sannie Daara says Ghana must unite behind the team, but admits he is unsure how much impact the Portuguese coach can make in just a few weeks.

“I doubt Carlos Queiroz can improve the Black Stars in just three weeks,” he told JoySports.

“I have serious doubts, but as Ghanaians and lovers of our country, we must do everything we can to ensure the nation’s success. We can achieve this by giving the team unwavering support and providing it with everything it needs to succeed. If he succeeds, all of Ghana succeeds.”

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto on 17 June before facing England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
