All roads lead to the Aboabo Middle B Park this Saturday with Sepe Timpom crossing swords with Kantudu in a highly anticipated final of the 2024 Ashanti Regional Inter-Zango Community Football Tournament.
It will surprise many to realize this is the 27th edition of this competition and arguably is the biggest community football tournament in the Ashanti Region by far.
The competition in all this 27 years of existence was introduced by the the deserved Zango Football Federation President, Mohammed Muratala Ibrahim, famously known as 'Prince Akuter', who has made the competition very beautiful comparing from previous years and very enviable for communities outside the region to even crave for participation.
Known for promoting football and also bringing the entire Zango communities in the region together to promote peace and unity, it has also produced lots of footballers who have enjoyed the game to the highest echelon; namely Abu Yahuza, Nasiru Lamin, Hamza Mohammed, Stephen Manu 'BA', goalkeeper Suraj Mohammed, former Asante Kotoko captain Richard Boadu and Black Stars, AS Monaco center-back Mohammed Salisu and many others.
Heading into the final, the two finalists; Sepe Timpom and Kantudu have their sights set on nothing but the beautiful coveted World Cup-like trophy, the cash prize and also the bragging rights and will head into the game with nothing but a winning mindset.
To climax it all, organiser Prince Akuter has really worked extra harder to secure the service of current Ghana's Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif, who will be present at the game as the special guest of honor.
Among other dignitaries to grace the grand final are Naaba Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul-Rahman Sanfo, the Chief of Moshie, Sarkin Adinii (Chief of Religion) Alhaji Dawood Akanini Mohammed Agbeniga.
Chief of Aboabo Alhaji Umar Farouk, Chief Alhaji Abdulai Ali Barry, the 'Nkosuohene' of Zongos in the Ashanti Region, Hon Ali Suraj, and many more will all be present.
Former Borussia Dortmund attacker and current Accra Lions Technical Director Ibrahim Tanko and New Edubiase FC bank-roller Abdul Salam Yakubu (Sabato) will also attend the much-anticipated event.
The final is slated for 16:00GMT (4:00pm) on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Aboabo Middle B Park.
