Minister of Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams has praised the Black Queens after their defeat to England they put up a top-tier display and is very proud of them. 

The Three Lionesses edged Ghana by a resounding 2-0 in a high profile friendly at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton on Tuesday afternoon. 

It took the European only six minutes to open the scoring account through Aston Villa star Lucia Kendall before Arsenal’s Alessia Russo scored a late penalty to seal the win. 

The Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency expressed great admiration and approval for the Black Queens in a post made on X. 

“A bold and brilliant performance from the Black Queens tonight. your growth, grit, and grace inspire us all. We are proud of you. We are behind.” 

The Ghana’s senior women team have booked their spot in the next 2026 WAFCON after a 7-0 on aggregate win over Egypt over two legs 

The Black Queens will regroup again in March next year for the 2026 WAFCON- which will serve as qualification to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
