The Ghanaian government has announced plans to construct a high-standard stadium in each region of the country, aiming to meet international standards.

This declaration was made by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, during a recent appearance before the Public Accounts Committee.

He highlighted that currently, only the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium are equipped to host international matches, with limitations even for certain categories of games.

“The government policy is to ensure that every region in Ghana has a modern, internationally accepted stadium. We are making sure that we are working on the regions that do not have those facilities.

“As and when we get funds and funding arrangements are put in place, you will see us in those regions to make sure that they are completed.”
