Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams is expected to meet Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku today (Friday) as scrutiny of the Black Stars poor start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers intensifies.
The crunch meeting comes after Ghana suffered back-to-back defeats in their opening Group C matches, losing 2-0 to Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké before a 4-2 home defeat by The Gambia. The results have left the Black Stars without a point from their first two qualifiers.
The latest setback has triggered increased calls for changes within Ghana football, with Okraku facing criticism from sections of supporters and the Ghanaian football community.
Adams and Okraku have previously held talks on issues concerning the national team and government support for football.
Kickgh.com can exclusively report that the meeting is expected to address the Black Stars’ difficulties and explore measures to get their qualifying campaign back on track.
Ghana will need a strong response in their remaining Group C fixtures to keep their hopes of reaching the 2027 AFCON alive.
