Ghana have begun the search for a new head coach after bringing Carlos Queiroz’s second spell in charge of the Black Stars to an end.

The decision comes after a poor run of results, with the Ghana Football Association now looking for a coach capable of restoring confidence and improving the team’s performances.

Emerse Faé has emerged as a leading candidate for the vacant position, according to reports.

The Ivorian coach guided his country to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations title on home soil, recovering from a difficult start to the tournament before lifting the trophy.

His success with the Elephants has strengthened his reputation on the continent and made him an attractive option for Ghana as the Black Stars seek a fresh direction.

Kickgh.com understands that interest from Ghana's FA is understood to be strong, although negotiations would still need to take place before any agreement can be reached.

The GFA is expected to assess its options as it looks to appoint Queiroz’s successor and prepare the Black Stars for their upcoming international assignments.
